Description:
TRIANGULAR FELT WOMEN'S SUFFRAGETTE PENNANT WITH PRINTED TEXT THAT READS "VOTES FOR WOMEN", 1910-1920:

Triangular, yellow felt pennant with black lettering that reads: "Votes for Women, " with a black felt binding and black felt ties. Violet and yellow were the customary colors of the suffrage movement in America, though red, white and blue objects are also seen. Large suffragette textiles are particularly scarce and sought-after. This one was made sometime between 1910 and 1920, when Women's right to vote was successfully obtained.

Mounting: The textile has been hand-stitched to 100% hemp fabric. The mount was then placed in a gilded French molding, to which a ripple profile molding was added as a liner. The glazing is U.V. protective acrylic.

Condition: There is moderate fading and there is a repair to a tear in one of the black ties.
