This exceptional, carved wood cornucopia probably served as part of the ritual equipment for a fraternal lodge. Decorated with polychrome and gilt paints, the carving has the most excellent early surface that a collector could ever hope for. A small metal eyelet signifies that it may have been hung from a cord at one time, which could explain its outstanding state of preservation. Circa 1870-1880.
