FOLK PORTRAIT OF A BULL, SIGNED L.D.D., 1885:

Folk portrait of a bull in oil on canvas, signed L.D.D. and dated 1885.  Found at an estate in the Hudson, New York area.  The painting's great style and  presence in the stylized animal are enhanced by its elongated format and the artist's strong use of color.  The work has been married to this ca 1830-1860 gilt frame with exceptional coloration.

Condition:  Cleaned but not relined.  Canvas in excellent, early condition.
