  BRONZE INKWELL IN THE FORM OF AN EAGLE’S HEAD, circa 1850-1880, PROBABLY AMERICAN, UNSIGNED
Dimensions (inches): 3.25" tall x 4" wide x 2.25" deep
Description:
Cast bronze inkwell, in the form of an eagle’s head. Hinged at the nape of the neck, the beak opens with the lid continuing backward, the edges formed by overlapping feathers. Made circa 1850-1880’s, the interior has what appears to be a hand-blown glass well that fits into the opening within. Very bold in form, with round, glass eyes that appear to be made of either dark green opal or glass. Unmarked/unsigned, but of exceptional quality and form.

Condition: There are no significant condition issues.
