HUDSON RIVER SCHOOL FOLK PAINTING OF MONUMENTAL SIZE AND QUALITY, CA 1880-1900:
Hudson River school folk painting of monumental size with a flying horseman, a monestary with vineyards and an orchard, fisherman, turtles, squirrels, dogs, and exoctic birds, all set before a range of blue mountains. Ca 1880-1900.
Condition: Cleaned, but not relined. The back of the canvas is excellent, original and untouched, with golden brown oxidation. There is a 1" lateral weak area in the very top left corner. Pinpricks of light can be seen through it, but it's not a compete tear. The canvas is taught and stable. |
