HOOKED RUG WITH HEARTS AND TWO BLACK CATS, 1940-50:
Late but great, this ca 1940-1950 American hooked rug features two black cats with red bows, in mirror images poses, flanked by four red hearts, one in each corner. This is surrounded by a scalloped border. The colors are black, grey, red and white.
Construction: Wool and rayon rags on burlap.
Mounting: Professional sewn mount on black cotton canvas over a wooden stretcher frame.
Condition: Excellent, with only very minor fraying/losses. |
