Dimensions (inches): |
4.5" tall x 16" wide x 2.5" deep |
Description: |
|
Folk carving of two ring neck pheasants, with red bodies, eyeing each-other in a face-off. Diminutive in scale and with great surface, the carvings have wire legs that mount to a black-painted, pine base. It’s very unusual to see two birds in such a stance. The way in which they are positioned adds movement and is very well done, and the selection of color definitely draws the viewer’s attention. Made circa 1890-1920.
Condition: Tight, repaired break in the neck of one bird. |
