BEADED WATCH FOB WITH AN AMERICAN FLAG AND A RED CROSS, PROBABLY MADE FOR A PHYSICIAN OR MEDIC, 1912-1920's:
Beaded pocket watch fob with an image of a 48-star American flag and a prominent red cross. The tiny beads used in this example (micro-beads) allow for a more detailed image than is usually seen. Made ca 1912 - 1920's, possibly with the intention that it be sold to a physician or perhaps to a soldier who served as a medic during WWI. Possibly of Native American manufacture, though not all of these beaded watch fobs were produced by American Indians.
Mounting: The gilded American molding dates to the period between 1860 and 1890. The beadwork has been hand-stitched to 100% hemp fabric. The glazing is U.V. protective glass.
