This is a circa 1890 ? 1910 version of the Confederate battle flag, sewn entirely with a treadle machine of beautiful glazed cotton. Made for a veteran?s parade or reunion, it is very unusual to find an example that dates to this particular period, which is early for post-war Confederate flags.
