BUTTER STAMP WITH EAGLE MOTIF AND EIGHT-POINTED STAR, MID-19TH CENTURY:
Primitive, wooden, chip-carved butter stamp, dating to the mid-19th century, with an eagle and an EIGHT-pointed star. Appears to be softwood instead of the more typical maple. The image is more distinct and endearing that it appears in these images. the stamp has wonderful wear and a great, scrubbed patina from much use. |
