Description: |
|
Salmon-painted Pennsylvania blanket chest with ebonized molding at the top, waist, and base, and applied, ebonized, splay feet. Of Centre County origin, possibly in the area called The Forks, where Pine Creek, Penn's Creek, and Elk Creek intersect, at the edge of Bald Eagle State Forest, in a tiny village now called Coburn, this is an identified form and style, though more unusual with drawers.
