BLACK PAINTED & GILDED AMERICAN MIRROR, CA 1830:
Black-painted American looking glass of the late Federal / early Empire period with exceptional, original black-painted and gilded surface. The broken arch pediment has applied, circular rosettes at the returns and an applied, beaded edge.
Provenance: Exhibited for 3 years in a special exhibit at the home of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Condition: There was probably a finial of some nature at the top center. Three of these mirrors were found together and all were the same with no finials, though their condition was otherwise excellent. |
