13 star American national flag ribbon made of woven silk and of the type used in military medals, political and fraternal items in the 1876-1890 period. These were also sometimes simply worn on a lapel with a stick pin.
Mounting: Hand-stitched to hemp fabric and placed in a black-painted, hand-gilded and distressed Italian molding. Spacers keep the textile away from the glazing, which is U.V. protective glass.
