Folk painting of a prize cow with lots of character, ca 1880, English but with a less European appearance than some; married to a wonderful, water gilded, American molding that dates to the period between 1840 and 1870. A bold example in this classic folk style.
Condition: Cleaned and relined. There appears to be a repaired vertical tear in the wooded area, about 2.5 inches in from the right. |
