|Parade flag in the design of the national flag of Israel, block-printed on plain weave cotton. Found in Jerusalem, the flag is affixed to a rectangular wooden staff, crude and un-sanded. The edges were turned over and loosely bound with hand-stitching. Probably made in or around 1948, at the time when the nation became a sovereign state, the format is nearer-to-square than usual, while the overall presentation is both endearing and attractive.
Mounting: The flag was mounted and framed within our own conservation department, which is led by expert staff. We take great care in the mounting and preservation of flags and have framed thousands of examples.
The background is 100% cotton twill, black in color. The silver gilded frame is modern and has a distressed finish. A shadow box was created to accommodate the staff. The glazing is U.V. protective glass. Feel free to contact us for more details.
