UNUSUALLY LARGE & BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED LADY JUSTICE FLAG POLE TOPPER, 1876 ERA
Dimensions (inches): 15.25" tall x 6.5" wide x 15.5"deep
Description:
UNUSUALLY LARGE & BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED LADY JUSTICE FLAG POLE TOPPER, LAST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY:

The only flag pole finial that I have ever seen in the form of Lady Justice, holding her sword and scales. The large scale figure is made of cast zinc, as-is the small, partial sphere below it. The large ball, made of copper, is adorned with a zinc, spread-winged eagle. Possibly made by Fiske in New York City, last quarter 19th century.

The surface is silver over gold paint with nice, worn and oxidized patina. Note: In order to make the angled wall mount, the ball was filled with molten lead so that it could be drilled for a post.
